enhanced reality (ER) uses technology to allow you to see the real,
physical world with additional information displayed "on top" of it.
You will wear ER goggles which have a video camera, image
processing computer, user input device (buttons or voice recognition
etc) aand display capabilities to project images "on
top" of what you are looking at.
What sorts of things could you do with ER goggles, when you look
at something and then prompt for information?
- Look at a person's face, see their name and info to remind you how
you know them (if you do).
- Look at a barcode, see information about the item, including
lowest prices at other merchants.
- Look at a snake, see if it is poisonous.
- Look at a
building, see the address and GPS coordinates of the building, list of
tenants (with phone numbers, email addresses, websites) and the
realtor or property manager for that building.
- Look at a bus, see the bus route name and
number (superimposed in large font on the bus) and schedule.
- Can you think of any other ideas? If so, email me.
