Tivoli Audio PAL (Portable Audio Lab) is a rockin' small portable weather-resistant radio. Expensive at $130, and with only one speaker (but stereo headphone jack), the PAL is one of the highest quality electronic things I own, and it sounds dynamite. It is about the size and weight of a brick, and you can choose from eight different colors. It has a very cool radio tuning knob with a 5-to-1 turn-to-tune ratio which has better ergonomics than any radio dial I've ever used. And its electronic tuner automatically pulls in the strongest frequency "near" the one you are trying to get, which in practice works great. The famous Henry Kloss (MIT engineer who started Advent, KLH, Cambridge Soundworks, etc) came out of retirement to design this radio before he passed away in 2002. A charge lasts about 16 hours. Oh, and if you want $20 off, enter my referal code p7yvd-fwpu7-v2784 when you order from Crutchfield. See also the Boston Acoustics Receptor.
