I'm an avid amateur photographer, which means I'm unhappy with most
of my photos, but I am getting a little better over time. Many years
ago a friend who always had nice photos told me his trick: when he got
prints back from the lab, he would throw half of them in the trash!
Wow! Well, with digital photography, that concept is a lot easier to
do since photos are free. I felt better recently when a great amateur
photograher told me he was only satisfied with 30% of his photos (but
then maybe he was being nice or maybe his standards are higher than
mine).

the ultimate camera review website; another one is

- iokio has a cool camera
selector in flash; after their intro, click the bottom right
icon to launch. Does not have all cameras though, and is focused
on UK market. This is really just a demo of these guys' flash
technology.
- Ceiva should be owned by every

- Picasa
has fans, but I won't use it since it arrogantly keeps

- gallery
seems cool;

- Adobe
Photoshop Album can make nice CDs; here is my
feedback.
- Paint Shop Pro is
mostly what I use, only since I learned it once when I was doing tons
of website graphics creation and editing. V5 was great, started in
about two seconds and has all the tools you need. V8 tries to compete
against
PhotoShop,
which means ~20 second startup and confusing tools.
But I had to upgrade to version 8 so it would not crush my EXIF info. :-|
- foveon has the first chip
to record separate RGB values at each pixel.
- Kodak
DSC-14n has 14 megapixels, Nikon lenses, and a full 35mm CMOS
sensing area, which means a 28mm lens (for example) is actually 28mm.
Another nice camera is the
Nikon
D1X.
